Position Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor provides hands-on leadership and oversight to a multi-entity AP/AR shared services team. Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely team output of the company’s accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Supervises AP/AR employees and the daily administration of billing/collection activities and vendor account management.
Responsibilities:

Supervise, train, and develop a team of engaged Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable employees.

Communicate job expectations and coach employees, writing performance appraisals for assigned staff members as well as administer corrective action as needed.

Supervise and perform daily accounting activities in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger

Assist with the setup of new vendors and customers

Support month-end and year-end closing processes, and coordinate necessary year-end projects (e.g., annual 1099 reporting, etc.)

Research and follow-up on outstanding issues and ensure weekly and monthly deadlines are met

Assist with the resolution of accounting system issues and response actions as needed

Serve as subject matter expert and support the enterprise by providing timely and complete responses to inquiries and requests for information

Ensure compliance with accounting processes and policies and provide guidance and training to staff

Select, develop, and motivate employee direct reports and evaluate their performance. Provide feedback and address performance improvements, improve technical skills, and increase efficiencies. Create improvement plans to align employee performance with operational goals, as necessary.
Skills and Specifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field and 5-10 years of accounting experience, and 2-plus years of supervisory experience; equivalent experience considered.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly desired, experience with MS Navision or Great Plains considered

Experience in manufacturing, inventory / distribution, project accounting and/or technology services

Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams

Organized with strong attention to detail

Must have high energy and enjoy training and developing others

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
