Premier LogiTech ("Premier") is looking for a Distribution Center Operations Manager to join our team!

Position Summary:

 

This Distribution Operations Manager is responsible for handling the day-to-day operations of a distribution center.  This position is responsible for serving as front-line interface with the Client Representatives, executing all warehouse operations on a daily basis, developing, maintaining and training staff on efficient workflow processes, and applying lean principles for continuous improvement of all operations.   

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Senior Operations Director in planning of staffing requirements for processing daily workload and forecasting staffing requirements based on the Client’s projected Sales forecast.

  • Oversee all distribution operations including planning and monitoring inbound receipts and outgoing deliveries including coordination with a third party Transportation Services provider.

  • Coordinate with Order Management team to ensure timely submission of picking documents for daily processing.

  • Coordinate with Client on daily withdraws/replenishment from the Foreign Trade Zone.

  • Manage tax stamping operation which involves stamping product for 7 States and managing and reconciling the tax stamp inventory (more States as future expansion).

  • Work with the Client to manage inbound container to ensure adequate staffing.

  • Manage Point of Sale Material for customer’s marketing team.

  • Ensure that inbound/imported receipts are of high quality and submit requests for credit for any damaged inbound materials.

  • Manage Returns process for damaged materials returned by the Client’s Customers ensuring that end Customer is properly credited for all appropriately returned materials and informing management of possible instances in which credit should not be applied.

  • Operation includes federally regulated materials which must be properly accounted for, secured, and reported each day.

  • Understand physical inventory and cycle count procedures to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained at 100% per Client requirement.

  • Manage stock control and reconcile with WMS.

  • Use the WMS software on a daily basis to manage warehouse activities and Client orders.

  • Maintain item record, document necessary information, and utilize reports to project warehouse status.

  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.

  • Report to management on activities and issues.

  • Communicate job expectations and coach employees and provide training and development for team.

  • Determine staffing levels and assign workload on a daily basis and project future staffing needs based on Client provided forecasts.

  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees’ performance. Develop and counsel employee performance as needed. 

  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.

  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative improvements or adjust existing work procedures and practices.

  • Confer and coordinate activities with other department managers to optimize processes.

  • Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity.

  • Understand and manage to established warehousing metrics related to financial performance, cost, service, and quality.Create work plans and develop strategies/projects to continually improve performance across all metrics.

  • Inform higher level management of discrepancies and do not hesitate to identify and request Resources for assistance when needed.

  • Maintain standards of health, safety, and security.

  • Maintain professional daily relationship with the Client as this Operation resides within the Client’s building including significant Client Office Staff.

 

 

Skills and Specifications:

  • 5+ years logistics services experience, preferably for a rapid growth operation.

  • Must have demonstrated 5+ years of experience managing and developing team members.

  • PC skills including expert user of WMS (warehouse management system), strong knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and intermediate MS Office Suite.  

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated experience identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Must be results-driven and have demonstrated understanding of developing and managing to provided metrics.

  • Knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone Regulations and required reporting is a plus.

  • Knowledge of cigarette tax stamping a plus.

  • 4-year degree a plus (preferably Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business discipline).

  • Korean language skills a plus (both verbal and written).

 

 

Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time including walking the facility production/operation for extended periods of the day.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment.
